Bio

  • Born in Lima, Peru. At four years of age Mirayda made her first appearance on Peruvian Television winning a dancing competition.
  • Mirayda grew up in Venezuela where she worked starring in many musical productions in the theaters of Caracas acting, singing and dancing.
  • She came to the U.S. in 1986, where she worked and toured with different theater productions where she also sang and played her guitar, some are "The underdogs", "The Victim", "Real Women Have Curves", and many more.
  • In 1988 she founded her own group and called them "Las Chismosas" (The gossipers), with a repertory of spanish folk songs they soon became popular in the Bay Area, San Francisco, performing at the Mission Cultutral Center and La Peña in Berkeley, City hall, Radio Interviews and World music festivals.
  • At the end of 1989 Mirayda move to Los Angeles where immediately was chosen to play the leading role of Tina Juarez in the American Film Institute=s AThe Ballad of Tina Juarez a film which won both the Cine Eagle and the Bogota International Film Festival awards.
  • Mirayda is a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1989. Some of her film and television credits include co-starring in Hallmark Hall of Fame's "An American Story", Warner Bros's "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.", NBC's "A Jury of One", and Showtime's "My First Time", among others. She has recently been feautured on FX's "The Shield"
  • Mirayda has appeared starring in many national commercials and promotional campaigns for AT&T, Wallmart, Hyundai, PSA's and music videos.
  • In 1992 Mirayda produced and performed Rhapsody in Mambo and Rhapsody in Bolero, two musicals of classic latin songs.
  • Between 1996 and 2001, Mirayda wrote and composed lyrics and music for a series of eight musicals about Jewish holydays which she produced for the Jewish schools in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
  • During 1998, she won a continental singing contest "El Chacal" on Univision's Sabado Gigante.
  • On 2005 she presents her debut album LATIN LOVER. Which was submitted to the 2005 Latin Grammys under RYCY where she recorded it. Mirayda was selected on the first round, among ten finalists for the Category of Songwriter and best Production.
